Dog Tips

Dogs are allowed all year at the dog-friendly section of Fisherman's Walk Beach. From May 1 to September 30, dogs are not allowed on the main beach. From October 1 to April 30, dogs are allowed off-lead on all sections of Boscombe Beach. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the promenade, pier, zigzag paths, and cliff paths at all times. Owners should remember to pick up after their dogs.

Best Time to Visit

Dogs are allowed off-lead from October 1 to April 30. During May 1 to September 30, dogs are restricted to the dog-friendly section at Fisherman's Walk Beach. The beach can be busy with swimmers during peak season.

Paid parking is available at Boscombe Undercliff car park (355 spaces) and Overstrand Car Park (70 spaces). Both are located next to or very near the beach. Charges apply every day at all times.

Toilets (including accessible and Changing Places), drinking water, showers, electric BBQ hotplates, RNLI lifeguards (April-September), beach office, restaurants, kiosks, and surfing equipment hire are available. Dog waste bins are UNKNOWN.

Many accessible facilities are available, including accessible toilets, beach accessible wheelchairs (May-September), and Mobi-Mat beach access matting (May-September). Boscombe Undercliff car park provides good level access to the beach. A Changing Places toilet is located at Boscombe Pier. Three wheelchair accessible beach chalets are available for hire.
