About Dorset Beach Dog Restrictions

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are issued by Dorset Council and BCP Council to manage dog access on beaches during the summer season.

Restrictions typically apply 1 May to 30 September, usually between 10am and 6pm, though exact hours and dates vary by beach.

Fines: Fixed Penalty Notices of up to Β£100 can be issued for breaching PSPOs. Persistent offenders can be prosecuted.

Always check local signage at the beach as restrictions can change. This checker is updated annually but local conditions may vary.
