Avon Beach is a sandy beach in Mudeford, ideal for families and dog walkers during permitted seasons. It offers a gentle slope into the sea and is backed by a promenade with various facilities. The beach is known for its unique cliff habitats, which are Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

Dogs are welcome off lead from 1 October to 30 April. At other times, dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be kept on leads on the promenades at all times.

Hazards to be aware of

Open fires are not permitted due to vulnerable cliff habitats. Watch for tides ebbing out of Mudeford Harbour. Otherwise, generally safe and mellow.

Parking

Avon Beach Car Park (99 spaces) adjacent to the beach. Additional parking at Avon Run Road car park (222 spaces), a 5-minute walk via steps. Parking is charged.

Facilities

Toilets (including baby changing) next to Noisy Lobster Cafe, cafe, restaurant, beach shop, beach side refreshment kiosk. Lifeguard patrols during school summer holidays. Dog waste bins: UNKNOWN.

Beach level entrance to promenade and beach via Avon Beach car park. Flat, level access from the car park onto the promenade. Accessible toilets with RADAR key access on the promenade. 6 accessible parking spaces.
