Dog Tips

Dogs are allowed all year round in a designated area at the western end of the promenade to Haven Point. From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on the main beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade and paths. Remember to pick up after your dog.

Best Time to Visit

May through September for vibrant beach days and events. October through April for peaceful walks, easier parking, and lifted dog restrictions.

Sandbanks surface car park (BH13 7QQ) is located next to the beach with 532 standard spaces and 11 disabled spaces. Parking is paid. Shore Road Car Park (BH13 7PN) is nearby with 71 spaces. Parking can be difficult in peak season, with car parks filling by 9:30 AM. Public transport and Park & Ride are recommended.
