🐾 Dog Information

Dog Tips

Dogs are allowed all year round between groyne 5 (Middle Chine) and groyne 7 (Durley Chine). For the rest of the beach, dogs are not permitted from May 1st to September 30th. From October 1st to April 30th, dogs are allowed off-lead on all sections. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the promenade, zigzag paths, and cliff paths at all times. Dog waste bins are available.

Best Time to Visit

Summer is popular, with lifeguards from late May to early September. It can be busy during peak summer months, especially in July and August, when dog restrictions are in place and cycling is limited. Visiting outside of these peak times or during the early morning/late afternoon may offer a quieter experience.

Parking

Durley Chine Car Park is a sloping car park located next to the beach, offering 131 spaces (including 7 disabled spaces). Charges apply, with rates such as £3.20 for 1 hour, £9.60 for 4 hours, and £23.60 for 24 hours. Payment can be made by phone.
